In the past decade, the advent of targeted agents has become a survival benefit for patients with advanced cancers, and they have improved the cure rate in those treated in the adjuvant setting. Oncology nurses are at the forefront to assist with education, recognition, and management of side effects and supportive care during treatment.

Speaker:

Ann Culkin, RN, OCN, has devoted her career to oncology nursing for the past 20 years. Having worked in a variety of oncology specialties including gynecology oncology and bone marrow transplant, Ms. Culkin has been with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York for the past 20 years, where she specializes in thoracic oncology. She has authored or co-authored multiple abstracts and publications on a variety of clinical subjects related to lung cancer, and lectured at various conferences and institutions nationally and internationally.
